Countdown Started for the First Hybrid Fair of the Sector

The Flower and Plant Show, organized by Tarsus Turkey in cooperation with the Sub-Union of Ornamental Plants Producers (SUSBIR) and with the support of the Chamber of Landscape Architects, will be the first hybrid fair in its sector. Tarsus Turkey Fair Director Mustafa Gultekin Gokgul noted that the ornamental plants and landscaping sector – like most exporting sectors – is always seeking new foreign trade channels. He says, “We will host thousands of visitors at the Fair in November and, in addition, the Online B2B program will bring together local and overseas buyers who are unable to be physically present in Istanbul. Implemented for the first time this year, the Online B2B program offers our exhibitors access to the Fair within the scope of a digital environment. In this way, we aim to extend trade opportunities to all our stakeholders, beyond their expectations.”

Local ornamental plants producers are focused on the autumn period, when new orders and sales traditionally increase. The sector, which produces an average of 6 billion lira per year, along with 100,000 direct and 500,000 indirect jobs, is preparing to gather at The Flower And Plant Show, taking place at Tuyap Beylikduzu on November 12-14, 2020 for the first time this year.

Gokgul: “Our Hybrid Fair will provide new impetus to the export of ornamental plants”

Saying that The Flower and Plant Show 2020 will take place as a Hybrid Fair this year, Gokgul added: “Our organization, on the one hand, will host thousands of visitors as usual and, on the other hand, will also hosts buyers who want to visit the Fair but are unable to be physically present. However, these buyers, thanks to the Online B2B platform, will be able to set up online meetings and exhibit their products during the Fair through advance scheduling of appointments with our exhibitors. In this way, we aim to ensure that buyers who cannot travel are included in The Flower And Plant Show and provide significant momentum to the trade of our exhibitors.’’

Featuring a 30,000-square-meter exhibition area, The Flower And Plant Show offers a wide range of products from indoor and outdoor ornamental plants to flower and floristry materials, from seedlings and seeds to vertical garden applications, from exotic trees to national plants and from irrigation equipment to garden materials, exhibited together with landscape projects and applications.
